Sub-Forum of Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars Session Held by Navigation College at 9th Yangfan Forum for International Young Scholars

On the afternoon of December 26th, the sub-forum of the Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars session under the 9th Yangfan Forum for International Young Scholars was successfully held in the Circular Conference Room of the Planetarium by the Navigation College. Attendees included Dean Liu Kezhong, Party Committee Secretary Hou Jun, Vice Deans Zhang Jinfeng and Ma Yong, department heads, as well as representatives of young faculty members and doctoral students. Six young scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds were invited to participate.

Dean Liu Kezhong extended a warm welcome to the scholars and introduced the college’s development history, talent cultivation mechanisms, disciplinary achievements, platform advancements, and talent development outcomes. He emphasized that talent development remains a top priority for the college and expressed hopes to strengthen exchanges with young scholars through this forum. He sincerely invited outstanding talents to join the college and collaborate on shared growth. Additionally, he highlighted the college’s commitment to attracting more exceptional young scholars through enhanced communication, working together to advance high-quality development.

Postdoctoral researcher Xiao Xuedou and five invited scholars delivered academic reports and engaged in discussions on their respective research fields.

In his closing remarks, Party Committee Secretary Hou Jun stressed the college’s dedication to fostering talent growth and supporting young faculty members. He pledged comprehensive support, resources, and services to create an ideal platform for scholars to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.

During the event, participating scholars toured the Navigation Digital Planetarium, Maritime Museum, and Full-Mission Large Ship Handling Simulator.
