From January 4 to 6, 2025, the 2nd National Navigation Youth Academic Forum, jointly organized by Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Maritime University, Wuhan University of Technology, and Jimei University, was successfully held in Shanghai. The event brought together over 150 participants from 28 maritime-related universities and research institutions across China. Representatives from our college included Dean Liu Kezhong, Vice Dean Zhang Jinfeng, Youth Science and Technology Association President Liu Wen, and young faculty members.

The forum featured keynote speeches by experts such as Zhang Weidong (Shanghai Jiao Tong University), Yang Zaili (Liverpool John Moores University, UK), Wu Huafeng (Shanghai Maritime University), Wang Nan (Dalian Maritime University), Liu Wen (Wuhan University of Technology), and Yu Dexin (Jimei University), covering topics in intelligent and green shipping, marine environment, and vessel navigation. Parallel sessions were held on: "Smart Navigation and Shipping Digitalization", "Navigation Safety and Maritime Governance" and "Low-Carbon Navigation and Green Shipping". Faculty members Chen Pengfei, Yuan Zhi, Wu Xiaolie, and Ma Weihao presented their research. Invited experts provided targeted feedback on the presentations, offering guidance on future research objectives, methodologies, and technical approaches.

The forum received support from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Ningbo University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Guangdong Ocean University, Tianjin University of Technology, Shandong Jiaotong University, and Hainan Tropical Ocean University. The event aimed to advance cutting-edge technologies, innovative research, and future development in navigation and maritime fields, fostering a platform for intellectual exchange among young scholars. It holds significant importance in promoting high-level scientific research aligned with national strategies and industry needs.
