On the afternoon of March 27, Peng Pengfei, Director of the Technology and Information Department of the Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration, and his team visited the School of Navigation, Wuhan University of Technology. Zhang Jinfeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Navigation, Wen Yuanqiao, Deputy Director of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Research Center, and representatives from the school participated the session. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Zhang Jinfeng.
Zhang Jinfeng welcomed Peng Pengfei and his team and introduced school's discipline and professional development, talent cultivation, and scientific research status. He expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen communication and exchange, deepen cooperation, and enhance collaboration in areas such as advancing the integration of student "recruitment-training-employment" and promoting maritime technology innovation. Wen Yuanqiao introduced the basic situation of the center and the research progress of the Professional maritime LLM research of the Yangtze River.
Peng Pengfei highly praised the school's achievements in talent cultivation and scientific research, and offered valuable suggestions and opinions on how to further promote the integration of industry, academia, and research. He stated that both parties should strengthen cooperation to drive technological innovation research and the transformation of scientific research achievements. He also hoped the school would provide more support in cultivating information technology talents, which would aid maritime talent development.
Attending school members introduced topics such as intelligent maritime unmanned ships, indoor positioning for vessels, and proactive collision avoidance systems for bridges. Both sides discussed the technological hotspots of empowering maritime supervision intelligence through LLMs and big data.

During the visit, Dean Prof. Liu Kezhong accompanied the team on a tour of the school's scientific research laboratory platform.
