School Conducts Survey on Maritime Management Talent Cultivation in Qingdao

On March 13, School of Navigation conducted survey in Qingdao on the cultivation of maritime management talents. This activity was organized and implemented by the Qingdao Research Institute of Wuhan University of Technology. Participants included Yuan Zhuhan, Director of the Qingdao Maritime Safety Administration, Sui Liben, Vice Director, Wang Houen, Vice Director of the Qingdao Oceantec Management Bureau, Lin Hui, Director of the Qingdao Research Institute, Zhang Jinfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Navigation, Weng Jianjun, Liu Zhao and He Zhengwei, etc.


During the meeting, Director Yuan Zhuhan, Vice Director Wang Houen, and Vice Dean Zhang Jinfeng exchanged ideas on the high-quality development of maritime manegment, industry interaction and collaborative development, and how universities and industries can jointly promote high-quality maritime management talent cultivation. They gained a full understanding of the needs for maritime management talent cultivation from MSA department and outlined directions for further improving professional internships and employment.


During the survey, the team met maritime management students who are currently interning at the Qingdao Maritime Safety Administration and other departments. The students shared their internship experiences. Many expressed that the hands-on training helped them transform theoretical knowledge into practical skills and enhanced their ability to solve complex maritime problems.
