The 2nd National Maritime Youth Academic Forum Held in Shanghai

During January 4 and 6, 2025, the '2nd National Maritime Youth Academic Forum' was successfully held in Shanghai. The forum was jointly organized by Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Maritime University, Wuhan University of Technology, and Jimei University. More than 150 representatives from 28 maritime-related universities and research institutes attended the forum. Liu Kezhong, Dean of the School of Navigation, Zhang Jinfeng, Vice Dean, Liu Wen, President of the Youth Science Association, and representatives of teaching staff participated in the forum.

At the forum, Zhang Weidong from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Yang Zaili from the University of Liverpool John Moores (LJMU), Wu Huafeng from Shanghai Maritime University, Wang Nan from Dalian Maritime University, Liu Wen from our School, and Yu Dexin from Jimei University delivered keynote speeches on topics related to intelligent green maritime, marine environment, and ship navigation. The forum held parallel sessions on 'Smart Navigation and Digitalization of Shipping,' 'Navigational Safety and Maritime Governance,' and 'Low-carbon Navigation and Green Shipping.' Chen Pengfei, Yuan Zhi, Wu Xiaolie, and Ma Weihao from our School gave presentations and engaged in exchanges. Invited experts provided feedback on the content of the reports and offered guidance on future research objectives, ideas, and technical directions.

This forum received support from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Ningbo University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Guangdong Ocean University, Tianjin University of Technology, Shandong Jiaotong University, and Hainan Tropical Ocean University. The forum aimed to focus on cutting-edge technologies, innovative research, and future development in the maritime and marine fields. It provided a platform for young scholars to engage in intellectual exchange and academic discussions, playing a significant role in promoting high-level scientific and technological research in line with national strategic priorities and industry needs.
